HMS Andromeda

After a year away, i'm back on the Androm for another 3 year draft.

H.M.S. Andromeda

Leander Class Frigate

What do you know, after spending a year at HMS Collingwood I received my draft order to join the Andromeda again. When I left her, she had just gone into re-fit in Rosyth, a year to the day I was to rejoin her to bring her out of re-fit.
When I arrived in Rosyth the Andromeda was still covered in scaffolding and fresh paint, I moved into shore accommodation for the first 6 weeks until she was ready for sea. My old mate Spider Webb from the Arrow joined (as Chief ops (r)), which was brilliant because I got the job of Ops room sweeper and Spider was my boss. All credit to my other boss's in the R.N. but Spider was the best. Cheers mate.

3" rocket loading drills, Chaff in the rockets is designed to confuse incoming enemy missiles so the quicker we could load them the better

Scouse Johnson rowing the paint punt, this vessel was used as a last resort for painting the ships side.
Basically 2 floats a bit of wood and a hand rail, still it got the job done.

This is Spike Ainsworth dressed up like action man, what we were actually doing was 3"rocket loading drills.3" rockets (a.k.a.) chaff, were used in an attempt to lure incoming missiles off course.
